It began with a name.

Shanti was the beloved mother of Kumar Manchharam.

Her name, meaning peace, became the beginning of a family story built around generosity, togetherness and giving.

When the Manchharam family created their first family residence in Bali, it was named The Shanti Residence in her memory.

Over the years, Shanti became more than the name of a home. It came to represent the values that would eventually inspire the Foundation itself: creating a strong base for others, opening doors and sharing opportunity.
